Let me introduce my brother's dog, Mandy...
And I want to tell you, she's quite a dandy!
She sticks by his side like a nurse on duty.
Just look at her picture... Isn't she a cutie!
Mandy jumped in my lap right from the start;
That's when little Mandy done stole my heart!
When Clem goes to the shower and closes the door
She lays herself down on the hallway floor.
As the door opens, Mandy dashes to the kitchen
To make sure a good breakfast is in the fixing.
No matter where he ventures, she tags along
Then runs to get help if something goes wrong.
When Clem heads for his scooter she wags her tail
Cause she knows she'll be invited to help get the mail.
They look across the yard and spot a rabbit or two
He holds her very tightly, though it's hard to do;
For if she got loose and an owl swooped down
His precious little Mandy would never be found.
When the ducks come flying and land in the pool
Mandy has a chasing-good-time as a general rule!
The neighbors can hear this awful commotion
But the ducks will leave when they get a good notion.
She chases every critter that comes in the yard
The only reason they're alive is Mandy got tired.
When Clem goes out back and climbs on the mower
She watches like a hawk through the Arcadia door,
If she sees that her master is in any kind of trouble
She runs to Joyce... seeking help on the double!
When Mandy wants something she knows how to beg
As she whispers a whimper while sitting by his leg.
When she wants upon his bed Clem never refuses
Cause she watches over him whenever he snoozes.
God made little Mandy for Clem's protective toy
Just seeing them together fills my heart with joy!
I thank the Dear Lord for Clem's little Mandy.
When God created her; He created a dandy!
