I struggled on my own as I wandered through this life
Until I encountered an awful lot of strife.
Then I picked up my Bible which was dust on the shelf
Trying to find answers to help my agonizing self.
I turned lots of Bible pages to find helpful sections.
You see, everything had failed - I was ready to read directions.
After that crisis was over I went my merry way,
But when things weren't going so good I stopped a moment to pray.
I got so tired of struggling and my life becoming a disaster
I learned to look to Jesus, my Savior and my Master.
Now I use God's road map to travel through this life
And it truly is saving me an awful lot of strife.
I found I need God's guidance and all His many graces
As I travel through this life to unfamiliar places.
Now I wait to make decisions until I consult my Father above
For I know He'll guide and protect and shower me with His love.
