No one knows God's many reasons
For each year to include four unique seasons.
No one understands all that God has planned
For many secrets are held in the palm of His hand.
We stand in awe, watching the nature of things
Like the budding of trees that Spring time brings.
The grass turns green. All vegetation starts to grow
And the secrets of this newness only God can know.
Many birds are singing in the morning sun
But we don't understand all that God has done.
In the heat of the Summer we enjoy the shade
Of an old oak tree which God has made.
There are crops to gather from the farmer's field
And the Lord gets the credit for an abundant yield.
Then the chill in the air announces, "It's Fall"
But no one understands the wonder of it all.
Heading south in migration birds take flight
To see their formation is a beautiful sight.
We don't understand the instincts they possess
To try to comprehend is merely a guess.
There's much we don't know about God's many creatures
But we watch them and know they are wonderful teachers;
Like all of the squirrels running to and fro
Gathering plenty of food before the first snow.
Everything God created is truly a treasure
For the beauty surrounding us is a continuous pleasure.
We awaken and see frost on our windowpane
Or we watch as the sleet mixes with the rain.
Winter approaches as the north wind does blow
Which is likely to bring a blanket of snow.
As we observe the icicles hanging from trees
We can't comprehend the essence of these.
No one understands the rhyme or the reasons
For God to create four unique seasons
But God has His plan which is perfect and complete
And the beauty of it all is a wonderful treat.
