Although dad is the captain, mom rows the boat
And she often bails water to keep it afloat.
She comes down rather hard when a child breaks a rule
Though the kids just think, 'mom done-lost her COOL!'
But not even a mother can stand her own child
When he becomes a house-ape and literally runs wild.
A mother who is passive; letting her child run loose
Causes him to fall prey to Satan's mighty noose.
Mom is pulled more directions than the winds of the world.
She occasionally looks shabby with her hair uncurled.
Why, if mom had taken time to fix up and look neat
Dinner wouldn't be ready when it was time to eat.
Sometimes mom gets the blame when things go wrong
But in an EMERGENCY; It's Mom who is strong!
Some kids see mom as their perpetual maid,
Never being aware of the sacrifices she's made.
Cause when money gets tight mom stretches the dollars
She pinches the pennies till Abe Lincoln hollers!
When mom isn't appreciated, inside she may be stewing
But the family isn't aware 'cause she's still going and doing;
Putting her feelings aside without a single fret
She arranges her chores so all the needs are met.
When demands are overwhelming; "Why doesn't she just quit?"
Because the Covenants she made; she can never forget!
"How does she keep going at this endless pace?"
She reaches for the POWER of God's mighty GRACE!
Mom can't take all the credit, (laying the facts on the table)
The POWER of the Holy Spirit keeps her willing and able!

Phil. 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Matt: 25:40-b "Assuredly, I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My Brethren, you did it to me."
A Good Motto: If a task is once begun, Never leave it 'till it's done.
Be the labor great or small, Do it well or not at all.
